How to lay power cable lines

(1) Buried directly into the ground, which is the most common and economical laying method.

(2) Lay multiple cables in the cable trench.

Although the cable trench was larger than the direct burial at that time, it was convenient for temperature monitoring and ventilation and cooling measures to improve its heat dissipation conditions. In addition, the cable trench also has the advantages of convenient cable maintenance, new installation, replacement, easy to prevent external force damage and fault detection and repair.

(3) Installed in a cable tunnel, when laying cables in areas where there are many outgoing cables from power plants or substations or are installed in parallel (for example, more than 20 to 40), cable tunnels should be considered.

Although the construction of cable tunnels has large investment, long construction period, expensive construction materials, and brings many problems such as ventilation, fire prevention, and water leakage prevention, it has the following advantages:

 1) The section (corridor) occupied by the cable line is greatly reduced.

 2) Reduce external force damage and cable mechanical damage.

 3) Eliminate the chemical corrosion of the protective layer by harmful substances in the soil.

 4) It is quick and convenient to repair or replace cables.

 5) New cables can be added at any time, no need to dig roads.

(4) It is laid in the cable trough. When more cables pass through the urban streets, the pressure of the directly buried cables is relatively large, and it is not suitable to build cable trenches and tunnels. Cable troughs can be constructed, and the cost is lower than that of tunnels, but there are many advantages of tunnels, and fire protection does not need to be considered.

(5) Laying on the cable tray is a new form of cable installation in the factory area. There are many pipelines in the factory (especially power plants or chemical plants). Laying cable trenches is very difficult and often because of the running of steam pipes. Water ingress can damage cables, so install cable brackets overhead in the factory area instead of cable trenches.

(6) Overhead installation. Due to the development of plastic cables in recent years, the weight of the cable has been reduced, and the method of hanging the cable on the suspension line (or fixed on the tower) is gradually adopted. Compared with cables buried in the ground, overhead cables are susceptible to external influences and are not aesthetically pleasing, but have low construction costs.
